Jet set to make plates at PacPrint

The company intends to emphasise the speed at which water wash can produced products compared to the longer production time required for solvent wash versions. Jack Malki, director at Jet Technologies, says, “All PacPrint visitors need to do is bring a graphic file of any job to the Stand (1238) and they can walk away with the finished plate within 40 minutes. We will merely need graphic files on a USB in pdf format.”

He says that a new development in photopolymer plate technology, the Asahi AWP DEF, a solid water washable plate designed for flexographic printing applications will out-perform the latest generation of digital flexographic printing plates. He says, “It delivers a higher ink transfer and wider tonal range than other plates in the market via its special pinning technology.”

Visitors to the Jet Technologies Stand will be taken from one product department to the next in an Ikea style walk through corridor, which will include an entire room devoted to consumables.

Across the aisle, Dainipppon Screen will host the world premiere of its Truepress Jet L350UV as a commercially available system while Jet Technologies will feature Screen’s PlateRite FX870II Flexo CTP. Jet Technologies personnel will have full access to the new Truepress Jet L350UV for demonstrations and discussions with PacPrint visitors. Malki says, “As a Screen channel partner in Australia and New Zealand, we bring to the table a lot of experience in labels, narrow web, packaging and the folding carton markets. It’s a perfect partnership that allows Screen to focus on the commercial print offset and digital sectors, with Jet Technologies as the specialist in its field of expertise.”

He adds that Jet Technologies will presenting its range of products for sectors such as rotary screen printing and laminating. This includes another CTP device, the RotaLEX 6630F from Stork Prints for rotary screen and direct engraving. Stork has advanced digital workflow for rotary screen printers with a simplified one-step digital workflow, by eliminating the need for conventional or ablative film and ablative plate processing.
