KM launches B&W digital printer e-series

Konica Minolta has launched new black and white functionality to its digital bizhub E-series, which the company says will meet the demands of producing ‘high quality’, cost effective prints. The bizhub Press 1250e/1250eP and the bizhub Press 1052e series will have the added features, which, according to the company, will handle ‘high volume, and high speed monochrome printing’.

The company says the bizhub Press 1250e and 1250eP runs at speeds of up to 125 ppm, and is built for a ‘heavy-duty production cycle’ of up to 3,000,000 impressions per month. The bizhub Press 1052e prints up to 105 ppm, and both models feature ‘tandem printing capability that double’ their output speed for big jobs on ‘tight deadlines’. Speaking with the Australian Printer, Grant Thomas, product manager for Konica Minolta business solutions Australia, says: “It is well know that the demand for black and white printers are in decline, this is shown in the market share results – four per cent on average over the four speed segments, however local printers are still producing a large volume of prints on black and white high speed printers, and we expect this to grow over the next 12 months, as digital production of B&W prints expands. “And across all three e-series models, we expect to sell an average of 100 machines per year. Hey says Konica Minolta e-series range is designed to perform on outstanding quality and reliability, which has been ‘proven with winning of the BLI Pro awards for two years running’. “This supplies piece of mind to printers, but additionally allows them to take on more print work, and know that they can meet the heavy demands of printing black and white prints,” Thomas says. He says there are several further features that support the final output speed and ‘reduce operating hours’. These include the 250 GB HDD Print Controller with upgraded processing technology, which cuts rip times in half and the Jam Purge Function, which will purge sheets from the engine to the first available output tray. Thomas says, “Air Suction media handling will keep jobs running smoothly on a vast number of media stocks.  The range of finishing options has proven capabilities that are well regarded in the industry, such as the Konica Minolta GP-502 Auto Punch Binder, for this series of products; Konica Minolta expands its capabilities further, while delivering an unrivalled business advantage in digital, in line finishing capabilities. He says the machines also have ‘energy saving’ modes that automatically switch off power circuits when not required together with the low temperature fusing, which will ‘ensure the bizhub Press 1250e, 1250eP  and 1052e support Konica Minolta’s environmental sustainability initiatives, and can save time and money’.
