Kodak boosts Prinergy workflow

Rob Mollee, sales and strategic product group director at Kodak says, “Prinergy has always been about delivering efficiencies to print businesses. The new version 6.0 takes that a step further with a major increase in automation, particularly rules based automation.”

Version 6 is also able to make print decisions, sending jobs to output based on the optimum efficiency parameters. Mollee says, “If a printer has both digital and offset print solutions the new version 6.0 will decide where best to print.”

According to Mollee version 6 has also had a number of the add ons that have been developed over the years taken out, as they are no longer needed. He says, “It is more streamlined, the focus is on the core production environment.”

Kodak was also highlighting its digital printing credentials, on the stand was a NexPress 2700. Mollee says, “The Kodak NexPress is the only high end digital printer that is scalable, so printers can upgrade as theiur business gorws without having to buy a whole new press.”

The fifth unit on the NexPress can now print gold, as well as silver, or raised ink, or addiional green and blue colours.
