Konica Minolta cements place in print

It is launching a new colour management solution, a new cloud based, a new inline UV laminator, and highligting its solutions credentials with third party finishing.

David Procter, general manager of Konica Minolta says, “The print industry and Konica Minolta have come a long way in the past eight years. Printers visiting the Konica Minolta stand will see a company that is thinking outside of the box in a continuously growing digital market.”

The company’s bizhub Press 6000 will now preint on a sheet 1200x330mm, enabling eight page brochures. Konica Minolta also launched the EFI M500 cloud based pay as you use print solution. This enables users to draw documents from the cloud and print. The company also showed its second generation HC printer, the 70HC, with its vivid colour gamut.

The new inline UV solution, the Tec was also launched. Procter says, “Inline UV will enable one-pass production for those customers that need laminated print.

Gordon Fogarty, National Manager Professional Services, Konica Minolta. Says, “Our colour management solutions increase productivity by allowing a faster more cost effective turnaround of jobs, by reducing set up times and offering complete consistency over re-runs.”

“All of our Colour Management Solutions are seamlessly integrated with our bizhub Press colour print systems. This provides peace of mind when it comes to controlling colour printing as there is no longer any doubt about the quality of colour that can be produced. Professional printers can be assured of achieving a vibrant print match every time.”

Konica Minolta offers levels of Colour Management; standardised colour, standardised colour over long flat sheet runs and self-service colour management – each utilising Konica Minolta’s proprietary Color Care application.

The first level of colour management addresses the challenges of matching colour with printed output from another bizhub press, or from locations interstate, by maintaining colour engines to a specific standard which is monitored remotely.

Whereas the second level ensures printed image density will not deteriorate over the length of a run through a self-adjusting engine which maintains the original density value.

The final level of colour management delivers standardised colour quality across multiple engines, different brands of digital printing systems and across different geographic locations. This solution is ideal for businesses which require complete flexibility and a best in class approach to colour management.
