Konica Minolta launches digital label printer

Konica Minolta’s latest digital colour label printer, the bizhub Press C71cf, is now available, with the company promoting its suitability for short-run label printing in high-quality colour.

Printing high resolution labels of 1200x1200dpi, with an output width of 320mm, the colour label printer offers a monthly print volume of 24,000metres.

The company says it is ideal for commercial printers looking to expand into new markets, and complements existing analogue machines. It is suited to applications across food and beverage, pharmaceutical and cosmetics.

Labels can be printed on pressure-sensitive paper in gloss, semi-gloss or matte finish, wine stocks, white BOPP, polypropylene in matte or gloss, and other specialty substrates.

David Cascarino, national manager Industrial Print, Konica Minolta Australia says, “The number of high-mix, low volume print jobs continues to increase and print companies need to complete orders within shorter lead times. Printing demands that were difficult to fulfil with conventional presses can now be processed efficiently thanks to the flexibility of digital printing.

“The bizhub Press C71cf is also for label printers who are looking to shift volumes from conventional presses to digital so they can deal with shorter print-run lengths, requests for faster delivery times, personalisation and versioning, and the production of on-demand runs.”

The company says the bizhub C71cf features a continuous feed of roll media, which means it is possible to print long runs at high quality with fast speeds. The toner technology gives light fastness and high lustre, eliminating the requirement for an additional coating, according to Konica Minolta.

Cascarino says, “The bizhub Press C71cf ticks all the boxes for short-run label printing in high-quality colour, and is ideal for commercial printers looking to expand into the label print market to take advantage of this growing area of print.”
