Konica Minolta named sustainability leader

Konica Minolta has been named industry group leader on the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World), which examines environmental, social and governance investment.

This is the sixth year running that Konica Minolta has been selected.

Dr David Cooke, managing director, Konica Minolta Australia, says, “Sustainability is part of our DNA and we are proud that our efforts have been recognised by the DJSI. More than just being environmentally or socially minded, we embed sustainability into our operations and encourage the same of our employees, partners and clients.”

Konica Minolta says it received perfect scores in nine out of 23 categories including customer relationship management; innovation management; materiality; privacy protection; environmental reporting; hazardous substances; operation eco-efficiency, labour practice indicators and social reporting.

Konica Minolta was named the leader of industry group 1, Technology Hardware & Equipment, which includes 120 companies from around the world, and is one of 24 companies that have been named an industry leader.

The DJSI Industry Group Leader Report says "Led by its clearly defined six material issues (environment, social innovation, customer satisfaction and product safety, responsible supply chain, human capital), Konica Minolta has proven its sustainability leadership."

The DJSI World is the first global index to track the financial performance of the leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide and is provided by RobecoSAM, the Switzerland-based sustainability investment company, and S&P Dow Jones Indices in the U.S.

It assesses corporate sustainability from economic, environmental and social developments. The authors say the index is recognised among global institutional investors who take a close look at CSR management and sustainability. In the annual review of 2,500 companies worldwide, 319 companies have been listed on the DJSI World.
