Konica Minolta releases new flagship Bizhub

“The C8000 will be targeted at traditional offset printers moving to digital,” the vendor told ProPrint. “It is also targeted at the larger ‘Print for Pay’ businesses, including franchises and smaller digital printers, who are already in the digital printing space but are looking to move to the next step.”

The C8000 is first cab of the rank in the vendor’s Bizhub Press range, which Konica Minolta said is geared towards “products that are designed to meet the stringent requirements of the commercial offset and high volume digital environments”.

“Image quality, durability, flexibility and volume capability are all focuses of the Press brand,” the vendor said.

The C8000 outputs at a resolution of up to 1200dpi, and uses a new Simitri toner and 8-beam laser unit which the vendor claims produces quality comparable to offset printing.

The press handles stock up to 350gsm, and reaches a maximum speed of 80 pages per minute.

The C8000 will make its debut at the On Demand Expo in Philadelphia later this month, and will feature on the Konica Minolta stand at Ipex in May. First deliveries of the press to Australian and New Zealand customers are to expected to commence in late September.
