Kuhn Corp buys first digital press

Queensland based Kuhn Corp Press & Packaging has installed its first digital printer, a new Fuji Xerox Colour J75, to attract more work from current customers.

Walter Kuhn, managing director, Kuhn Corp says the new Fuji Xerox Colour J75 will be used for small run digital work. He says, “It will be mainly be used for short run digital colour work that we were putting on the Komori, and also it will be for our current customers’ digital printing requirements.” The Fuji Xerox Colour J75 has a print resolution of 2400x2400dpi and prints up to 76ppm in A4size. Handling stocks from 64-300gsm. The paper and image controls include an automatic colour quality suite (ACQS); Simplified image quality adjustment (SIQA); Custom paper profiles; Active decurler for heavyweight media. The eight staff Kuhn Corp recently moved from its leased facility in Geebung to a new facility purchased in the neighbouring suburb of Virginia. Kuhn says, “We moved as we needed more space for printing and for packaging to improve workflow and efficiencies. The size of the old place was 600sqm and the new place is 1,000sqm.” Kuhn Corp has been operating as a commercial printer since 1993, its kit includes a Komori Lithrone L628 and a Heidelberg GTO.
