Label competition calls for entries

Global label organisation Finat has opened its 2015 competition for label converters, accepting entries until March 5. Kurt Walker, president of Finat, says, “The objective of this annual labelling competition is threefold: it helps highlight the advantages of self-adhesive labels and related products as effective marketing, promotional or identification tools, and encourages converters to extend their technical and quality boundaries. “It promotes labels and labelling techniques worldwide and this to the benefit of the label and associated industries.”

Finat says its annual competition showcases the best of self-adhesive label print. It recognises and rewards achievement in terms of end use, marketing impact, print, and converting quality. Entries compete in segments where self-adhesive labels have application: alcoholic beverages, food, household, industrial, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, security labels, self-promotion, booklet/coupon labels, and for the major reel-fed print processes. The 2014 awards saw two Asia Pacific winners, with Collotype Labels Australia and Griffith taking out joint gold in wine labels and India’s Pragati Pack topping pharmaceuticals. Award winners for the 2015 competition will receive their prize at Finat’s annual congress which will take place June 11-13 in Amsterdam. Winning entries will be on display at the congress and at Labelexpo Europe 2015. Selected winners will enter the 2015 World Label Awards competition. Fiinat has revamped the participation details and entry form and has introduced a new, fifth category under Group E: Digital. The three extra categories cover digital printing technologies: solvent toner, dry toner and inkjet. The Finat website has full entry details, click here
