Lamson Paragon acquires Direct Mail & Marketing’s trade business

The deal includes all of Four Trade Only's customers well as some equipment, which will be relocated to Sydney, with the transition expected to take six to eight weeks.

DMM managing director Fred Humphrey told ProPrint that recent successes in "digital imaging, mail processing, fulfillment and distribution" had necessitated the sale.

Humphrey said he weighed up a number of alternative homes for the business and eventually chose "customer-driven" trade organisation Lamson Paragon.

He added that Four Trade Only's 11 staff had all been offered roles at DMM and that all creditors would be paid.

Rodney Frost, chief executive of Lamson Paragon division Cheque-Mates, told ProPrint: "The Lamson Group have been operating in a similar market to Four Trade Only for decades, both with separate strengths.

"With the continued consolidation of the market this makes sense to bring this under our trade banner rather than let it out to a retail business.

"Fred is an honourable man and has found roles for his staff, is paying all creditors and is totally focused on his team and customers.

"His mail and fulfilment business is really gaining traction and space is paramount," added Frost.
