Learn to diversify your business

Two Sydney printers will throw open their doors later this month to show the industry how they successfully diversified their businesses, and how others can too.

The Lithographic Institute of Australia-sponsored event on Tuesday October 28 includes plant tours of John Fisher Printing and Imagination Graphics, followed by dinner at The Henson.

Directors Tony Fisher and Emmanuel Buhagiar will discuss how their businesses started and how they have diversified over the past decade to keep up with industry changes.

John Fisher features a combination of offset and flatbed printing while Imagination Graphics has trade platemaking, digital print, speciality paper supply and hand-finished bookbinding.

The two nearby businesses regularly help each other out on jobs to increase their range of services to clients.

NSW LIA committee member Mitch Mulligan says attendees will be inspired to think strategically about the future of their business and the industry.

“This is a great opportunity to learn how two traditional printers have grown their business, and how and why they changed their business model to adapt and thrive in today’s ever changing multi-channel communication market,” he says.

Printers wanting to book in for the event need to contact LIA NSW Treasurer Mike Williams on mikewill@optusnet.com.au cost for the night is $55 for members, $65 for non-members and this includes the dinner.
