LIA awards outstanding graduates

Wilson who will receive a $15,000 scholarship, and Mohammed who has won an all expenses paid trip to drupa 2012, were two of eight graduates selected from around Australia to compete for the prizes.

The LIA ceremony – which held during the Queensland PICA Awards – drew an audience of more than 300to Brisbane’s Hilton Hotel ballroom.

As part of the selection [process, the students attended two plant tours at Craft Inprint and Salmat prior to sitting down for the interview process, which included explanations of the business plans they had submitted for the use of the $ 15,000 scholarship.

The judging panel found it difficult to split the field. Karen Goldsmith from GAMAA who was on the judging panel says, “There was really nothing in it at the end, any one of these excellent graduates would be a worthy winner.”
