LIA hosting Blue Star inspection

The NSW branch of the Lithographic Institute of Australia (LIA) is hosting a new factory inspection, this time at the Blue Star Silverwater premises, on August 2.

The LIA will take guests on a tour of both the sheetfed and web facilities, which the LIA says is one of the most advanced print sites in Australia.

LIA says, “In the Print Division we will see a wide variety of sheetfed presses, using offset litho and digital technologies. Blue Star Web Division is a leading player in the domestic niche heatset web offset market. It produces a comprehensive range of magazines and custom publications for the travel, tourism and financial services sectors.”

Following the tour will be a dinner at the Carnarvon Golf Club in Lidcombe with Matt Aitken, COO at IVE, Blue Star’s parent company, guest speaking.

Closed shoes are essential, and guests are encouraged to bring their own high vis vest if they own one.

Numbers are limited to 60. Registrations will be checked by the hosts, to insure no conflict of interest. The tour costs $55 for LIA Members and $65 for Non Members. Reply to Mike Williams at the LIA no later than 5pm July 28.
