The evening will begin with a tour of CDM Print’s facilities, during which the managing director of CDM, Michael Jones, and his team, will demonstrate the super fast printing power of his company’s digital printing capabilities.

Following the tour, LIA members will meet for dinner at the Graphic Arts Club, where Jones will give a speech to members about the advantages of digital printing.

CDM was founded by Jones in 1995 and the company’s name stands for Corporate Documentation Management. Today the company is the largest owner managed commercial digital print shop in Australia, employing 45 staff and servicing a range of Blue Chip organisations, training organisations and printers.

As one of the first in the country to install a Xerox 9400, CDM Print has remained a strong supporter of Fuji Xerox products, and is now running five Fuji Xerox 6180s and a Fuji Xerox iGen digital printing press.

Jones is adamant September’s tour of his plant will help show other printers the way forward. From the outset of his business Jones has had a single minded focuses on digital printing and he says the LIA event will help unveil the processes of a successful digital printing business.

“Digital printing is the future,” says Jones. “This event gives us the opportunity to introduce the LIA members to a quality digital printing business.”

“In my case as a printer, the experience has gone from father to son. The LIA members come from a range of varied backgrounds, from offset printing to printing on a variety of different substrates and mediums. What we want to do is to introduce them to the whole digital environment and make them feel comfortable,” he says.
