Marvel speeds up with Epson solution

Vic bookbinder Marvel Bookbinding and Printfinishing has boosted its in-house printing solutions with the adoption of Epson’s Workforce Pro WF-R8590TC Replaceable Ink Pack System.

According to Epson, the new ink-supply units allow Marvel to print up to 75,000 pages in black ink or full colour without needing to replace the toner.

Marvel chief financial officer Lea Robinson says the Replaceable Ink Pack System has enhanced both output speed and print quality for the printer’s day-to-day production.

“This was an easy decision to make. The Epson Workforce Pro Rips printing solution met our requirements and the price was right so this meant we could purchase the printers outright. More than that, the quality was good, reliability was high and it was consistent with no click charge,” says Robinson.

Marvel operates its Workforce Pro WF- R8590TC for its printing, photocopying and scanning requirements on a daily basis, particularly with label printing.

“The WF-R8590TC printers get a big daily workout and are heavily used in our production area where a lot of labels are printed,” adds Robinson.

“There is rarely a hiccup and of the small issues that have arisen, these printers are easy to use and maintain so we have been able to fix them ourselves and have never had to call for a service.”

Epson's printers are supplied by Kayell Australia, and Kayell sold Marvel these particular units.

Marvel is an independently owned bookbinder and finisher based in Victoria’s Heidelberg West. It began operations in 1986 by founders and tradesmen Wayne Eastaugh and George Laferla,
