McPherson’s wins Galley award for Book of the Year

The night of nights for printers and publishers was more competitive this year with an increased number of entries vying for the prestigious awards.

Everbest Printing was a firm favourite with judges, taking out the most prizes with six awards. They were: the Best Limited Edition Book, no price limit, in the sheetfed books section; Best Novelty Book or Stationery Item in the non-standard items section; Judges; Commendation Award in both the prepress and printing, and the production sections; Trophy of Excellence for Best Book; and a Trophy of Excellence for Best Non-Standard Item.

High quality magazine specialists, Offset Alpine Printing, took out three of the four awards in the Periodicals section, as well as two Judges; Commendation Awards and one Trophy for Excellence.

The Victorian-based McPherson’s Printing Group was the recipient of the Australian Printed Book of the Year Award, for Outback Heroes, published by Penguin Group Australia.
