Mimaki launches textile printer at Visual Impact

Mimaki has used its Visual Impact booth to launch two new machines – the TS300P-1800, which it says is a transfer paper printer for textiles printing – and the CFL-605RT, a flatbed cutting plotter. The company says the 1.8m wide roll-to-roll sublimation TS300P-1800 inkjet printer offers new levels of quality and productivity in digital textile printing.

Mimaki says the TS300P-1800 is designed to print onto the thinnest of transfer paper, and comes with a number of technologies that enable printing on thin transfer media, while maintaining high quality output. The company says the TS300P printer’s new printhead ensures accurate ink droplet placement with a high head gap enabling high quality printing on thin transfer paper. Brad Creighton, Mimaki national sales and marketing manager, says the TS300P-1800 has a powerful vacuum feed platen that holds media taut, while larger media press plates minimise cockling by reducing media up lift immediately after printing. He says the auto media feeder applies calibrated tension to the media, maintaining stable and precise media feed and take-up. It also features high productivity with print speeds up to 115 square meters per hour in four colour mode and 65 square meters per hour in six color mode. Creighton says the printer uses Mimaki developed and manufactured Sb410 sublimation ink to reduce production costs resulting in beautiful and vibrant prints with low smoke emission. He says Mimaki Advanced Pass System 4 (MAPS4) produces sharper, smoother printers while its Nozzle Check Unit (NCI) detects non-functioning nozzles and automatically cleans them reducing banding.

The CFL-605RT 20-inch by 24-inch multifunction compact flatbed cutting plotter, Mimaki says, offers the ability to easily facilitate creation and delivery of high quality, cost-effective designs. The company says it supports on-demand production and provides a rapid-response solution for the production of items such as short-run or custom original goods, samples and package prototyping. Creighton says the key features of the cutting plotter include reciprocating cutting suitable for substrates up to 10 mm thick such as foam cushioning materials, sponge or cardboard. Tangential cutting, which is for media up to 2mm thick such as synthetic leather, coated cardboard, reflective vinyl, rubber and fluted cardboard. Eccentric cutting is designed for media up to 1mm thick such as coated packaging materials, thin polycarbonate sheets, paper and film. Creighton says for drawing a ruled line that results in precise folding the machine has a creasing roller, which can be mounted alongside the cutting blade for cutting and creasing without changing tools.
