Mimaki launching new packaging cutter

Mimaki says its new compact flatbed cutting plotter will allow printers to produce high quality, cost-effective output on demand when combined with its new printers.

The CFL-605RT cutting table supports immediate finishing of packaging and prototypes, offering both creasing and cutting capabilities, and cutting of cushioning materials.

Mimaki national sales and marketing manager Brad Creighton says the machine combines with the UJF-6042 wide format printer to achieve on-demand production of the original goods by providing the whole production process.

“This machine complements our successful UJF series and provides new finishing opportunities to produce responsive packaging with short lead times,” he says.

The newest addition to the Mimaki cutting table range and accommodates material sizes up to oversized A2, and features a variety of functions, including creasing and eccentric, tangential and reciprocating cutting.

Creighton says the increased demand for on-demand production of prototypes and small lots, both for products and their packaging encouraged the Mimaki to deliver the new machine.

It can cut reflective vinyl, rubber sheets, foam, and cardboard as well as a wide variety of other substrates for printing or packaging work.

The machine will be launched at Auspack 2015, held in Melbourne Exhibition Centre from March 24 to 27.
