Morgana opens dedicated finishing showroom

Based in Alexandria, this is the third showroom for Morgana, which has similar facilities in Melbourne and Auckland; with the Ferrostaal head office based in Silverwater. The showroom features a core product portfolio of around 25 machines, with the company planning to introduce an additional two machines each year.

Andy Cooper, general manager of Morgana Australia told Australian Printer the main aim of the showroom is to provide local customers with a relaxed, convenient environment in which to view the latest products.

He says, “We needed a place in the CBD, where most of the digital printers are in order to provide ease of access. It was always a problem for people to get out to Silverwater and it has become apparent that people really needed to see this kit.”

Morgana says it has experienced a significant rise in the demand for digital finishing equipment with the company selling 80 DigiFold Pro machines this year and more than 70 pieces of equipment since PrintEx in May.

Cooper says the demand stems from a need for digital printers to keep more work in house. He says, “The digital finishing business is booming as printers realise there is money to be made by providing additional services to their customers.”

The showroom is located next door to well-known digital print shop Carbon 8, who is one of many to have a Digifold Pro on its production floor.
