Morgana opens showroom as demand grows for in-house digital finishing

The Alexandria hub is one of three showrooms for the digital finishing vendor, which is a subsidiary of Ferrostaal Australia. There are also smaller premises in Melbourne and Auckland.

Morgana Australia general manager Andy Cooper said the vendor had beaten its targets over the past year, even through “we set ourselves a pretty high bar”.

The sales growth, including those 80 DigiFold Pro units, was driven by increasing demand from printers to bring digital finishing in-house, he said.

“They are trying to keep it in-house, retain customers and take complete control,” added Cooper.

“Where in the past, people would have had something similar and outsourced it, they realise there is money to be made. [Finishing] is not just a necessary evil and it costs them a lot to send it out, so consequently they are bringing it in to get compete control and offer a complete service for customers.”

Cooper came to Australia to set up the local Morgana operation in September last year after Ferrostaal took over the agency from previous dealer CPI.
