Mount Barker Courier orders Tensor for increased colour capabilities

Steve Marston, production manager at the Courier told Australian Printer the press, which is expected to be up and running by the end of the year, was ordered in response to an increasing demand for colour print.

He says, “The boss asked if I wanted another Tensor and I said yes. The new press will cut our print runs from 4-5 to 3-4 and will enable us to print 24 full colour pages per run, which also means less inserts for the collators.”

The Marston family has been operating the multi-award winning newspaper, for almost 60 years and continues to expand the business. As well as the new press on the way, the Courier’s production floor houses two Tensor presses and three Goss single colour units.

Commenting on the latest order, Bruce Marston, general manager of the Courier says, “Our advertisers and consumers are impressed with the colour and quality of the colour pages we produce.

“Our press crew has informed me that we have not purchased a spare part for our Tensor presses since they were installed some years ago, which proves that buying quality really does pay off.”
