Canon Australia has appointed industry identity Garry Muratore as product manager for Display Graphics.
The portfolio includes Australia’s best selling UV flatbed printer the Arizona series.
In his new role at Canon, Muratore will support the sales team and wide format customers for a range of products including the Arizona range, ProCut cutting tables, and Oki Colorpainter printers.
Canon Australia manager Display Graphics Adrian Morris comments, “With a recent vacancy in this key role, we sought out only the highest calibre candidates and Muratore was the clear choice.
“We welcome Muratore to our growing business and I am sure he will excel in all aspects of the role.”
Muratore’s career spans nearly four decades in the printing industry and covered technical, sales and marketing roles. He was Agfa’s long time marketing manager, and introduced Agfa’s new wide format solutions to the country at a time when it was almost exclusively focused on prepress.
He also worked in sales and technical services for Kayell Australia’s graphic art and print markets where he was responsible for GMG's range of colour management and proofing systems supplied by Kayell.
During his career Muratore has also been credited to the introduction of many technologies to the Australian and New Zealand markets including digital printing systems, computer to plate, wide format industrial printers, workflow and colour management.
Muratore says he is excited to join the Canon team, “I got to see the range first hand at drupa recently and realised pretty quickly this was an organisation I wanted to be a part of and now that is a reality.”
