New head of print for PMP

George, who has been a non-executive director of PMP since 2002 and chairman of the audit and risk management committee, has agreed to step down from the board and board committees to oversee the transformation of PMP’s print division against a blueprint developed by Booz&Co.

Richard Allely, CEO of PMP says, “We are privileged to have someone of Peter’s calibre to implement the print transformation project. Peter has extensive experience in corporate restructuring and transformation.

He continues, “His brief is to reposition the print business with a lower cost base and a focus on delivering high value, high quality service.”

According to PMP, George is a highly experienced executive and non-executive director with an extensive background in telecommunications, media and corporate finance, including four years on the board of Optus. He is currently a non-executive director of Asciano Limited and ThorughVisioN.

Allely continues that Brian Ashton will leave the company slightly before the end of his three year contract, which ends in July.

Allely says, “Brian has served the company well, but family commitments require his return to New Zealand earlier than anticipated. Peter will start managing the Print business in an executive role immediately, reporting directly to me. Given his background and experience, he is well qualified to deliver the transformation strategy.”
