New Primera showcased at Muller Martini

Livio Barbagello, managing director of Muller Martini, says he pushed the Swiss manufacturer hard to get the Primera here first, saying “Australian printers have always seen the value in new technology, which is why we believe Primera will prove very appealing to the country’s printers, with its advanced functionality and high automation.”

Speaking to the assembled printers and finishers, who included many of the biggest names in the business, Barbagello pointed to Muller Martini’s 60 year heritage in finishing, and said the Primera was the outcome of significant r+d.

The Primera is available in several versions, ranging from the 11,000cph Primera A with lower levels of automation through the semi automated C version to the fully automated Primera E, which runs at 14,000sph. Barbagello expects Australian printers and finishers to opt for the E and C versions.

The Primera is aimed at both sheetfed and web printers producing medium to long run work.
