New printer raises productivity

Installed last year in the general processing and packing section of Waimata Cheese, the Videojet 43s has decreased labour costs, allowed increased production and improved flexibility. It has also future-proofed the company’s product labeling.
“This is a wet area so we needed a system that would accommodate moisture”, explains general manager Rick Thorpe. “We researched alternative suppliers via their websites and quickly chose Tronics. They were fast off the mark and were the only firm with a local sales engineer”.
Previously Waimata Cheese had used a hand-held device to apply small labels. The 43s now prints “best before” date and batch number on to larger improved labels typically in batches of over 10,000, several times a week.
