News makes multi million dollar press investment

Details of the specifics are thin at present, but News Limited says the investment is critical to ensure the company delivers the highest quality printed product for its readers and advertisers.

Geoff Booth, national production and logistics director, News Limited says, “This investment is an important message to the industry, our customers and our staff, that News Limited is committed to newspapers.”

Booth says, “The upgrade addresses a number of our business objectives around customer deliverables, quality and efficiency.”

Steve Dunwell, managing director, manroland Australasia told Australian Printer, “News Limited has shown their commitment to manroland with this multimillion dollar investment. They will upgraded their drive and control press systems to further their work in the best possible way.

Dunwell says, “It is a positive move for the print media industry. News Limited’s operation has a significant installed base of manroland web presses. It is good news for both News Limited and manroland.”

Menno Jansen, chairman, QI Press Controls says, “I am honoured with the prestigious order and looking forward to the partnership with News Limited. This order demonstrates that print is still alive and investments are being made in quality consumption and production efficiency.”

Jansen says, “We are pleased to be recognised by News Limited as one of the world’s leading companies in optical measurement and control equipment for the graphics industry.”
