Next generation Pantone arrives

The company says that enhancements include the chromatic arrangement of colours, an expanded palette of spot colours, the addition of new premium metallics and a broader range of neons.

Pantone says that Plus is more directly compatible with existing colour methods and all guides in the Plus series include a ColorChecker Lighting Indicator. It prints all books in the Plus series on text weight paper and are also now FSC certified.

Of its guides, the company says its Formula Guide and Solid Chips introduces 224 new solid colours for a total of 1341 colours; the Colour Bridge guide has been printed within today’s ISO specifications and G7 processes; the CMYK guide offers 2,886 CMYK colours for four-colour process printing; the Premium Metallics and Premium Metallics Chips provide tools for working with specialty colours; and the Pastels & Neons Chips offers a broad collection of 154 pastels with 56 neon colours.
