The Lücher Xpose! Simultan 130/D is purpose built for the security industry and incorporates some unique features, the most interesting being the ability to expose both conventional wet offset plates at 8000dpi and 5 microns, as well as dry relief letterpress plates. The benefit of being able to image both types of plate on a single CTP engine was considered attractive to them, albeit that separate plate lines are naturally required for processing.
The Simultan 130/D is a member of the Lüscher Switzerland Xpose! family of high end CTP engines. Lüscher CTP solutions are achieving widespread market acceptance and, according to Ferag, are rapidly gaining a serious market share.
