NTF registrations now open

Registrations for the 2015 National Technical Forums, held as a part of Packaging and Processing Week at Auspack in Melbourne from March 24 to 27, are now open. The National Technical Forums are designed to deliver educational programmes covering a broad range of topics relating to the theme Open Innovation & Collaboration.

The forums will feature 37 speakers, some of the big names in the industry, including director of Repeat Plastics Australia Mark Yates, Jason Goode MAIP, packaging development manager at Simplot Australia, Marlene Cronje-Vermeulen MAIP, packaging technologist at Deigeo Australia, Adam Robinson, senior packaging technologist Coles brand, and Dr Barbara Butow, senior scientist at Food Standards Australia New Zealand. International speakers include Dr Bradley Fain from Georgia Institute of Technology, Peter Buchhauser, head of sales Asia Pacific at Krones, Oliver Trodel, product support at KHS, and Steve Davies, director of corporate communications and public affairs at NatureWorks. The four-day forum will cover a wide variety of topics from innovation to new technology and machinery, industry performance, robots, brand building, food safety, bioplastics, and chemical migration. Innes Willox CEO of Australian Industry Group will kick start the first session at 9am, reflecting on the diverse change the industry has seen in the last decade and on the directions the sector now faces. Daniel Grimsey, packaging analyst at Euromonitor, will focus on driving future growth through packaging innovation. And international speaker Klas Bengtsson, global product manager at ABB Robotics will hold a session to focus on global trends for robots in packaging and food processing applications.
