Océ enters wide format solvent substrate market

The company’s supplies are designed for use on most types of wide format printing equipment, both Océ and non-Océ.

“We have long provided supplies to users of our own equipment giving us the experience platform demanded by customers operating non-Océ equipment,” says Morris.

“There is no doubt that the indoor and outdoor signage market is booming prompting a corresponding demand for reliable quality supplies, especially for specialty solvent materials. Océ supplies have been widely tested in European markets and the quality has proved exceptional.”

Morris says advances in equipment and inks are allowing advertisers and their suppliers to move beyond simple vinyls and into new areas afforded by both roll and flatbed solvent technology.

“Customers should be able to choose from the entire range of substrates that Océ is now able to provide.

“This range will include all types of vinyl adhesive, backlit film, textiles, canvas, photo paper, matte paper, pressure sensitive and polyester display film. Sales will be backed by a strong technical support team able to offer total colour graphics solutions.

“Customers who feel they’re not getting optimum results from their equipment will be able to draw on our wealth of experience in hardware and software to get the best answers to their output problems.”

Morris joins Océ from Halifax Vogel where he was team leader, plastics team in Victoria. He has a 10-year background in the printing industry.
