Oce has new take on wide format printing

The Océ ColorWave 600 delivers effortless
CrystalPoint quality prints on plain paper with world-class productivity for a
wide range of applications. The 42" printer holds up to six media rolls and
prints at speeds of up to 31 seconds per A0.

Rokus van Iperen, CEO of Océ says, "With
the introduction of Océ CrystalPoint technology, we are unleashing an important
wave of innovation that's changing the face of the wide format printing
industry."

The Océ CrystalPoint process converts
colour Océ TonerPearls into a gel that is then jetted and crystallised onto a
wide variety of media including uncoated and recycled, producing crisp,
waterfast high quality images with accurate dot placements.

The silk-shine look and feel is independent
of media, so there is little requirement to use traditional inkjet media
reducing the total price per print. Also, the company says no ozone, odour or
fine powder, offers significant environmental benefits.

Commenting on the technology Tim Greene, director
of wide format & jetting technologies at industry analyst InfoTrends says,
"Océ CrystalPoint technology creates an impressive new category that appears
competitively to address the dynamic digital printing markets in both the wide
format technical and wide format graphics segments."

Océ claims its CrystalPoint technology is
ideal CAD plots, GIS documents and business graphs. It says,"Mass-market
retailers can rapidly produce high quality colour signage with adjusted prices
to localise promotions and optimise sales opportunities."
