Océ printing sales rise

The Dutch multinational recorded a 66 per cent rise in operating income for commercial activities in the fourth quarter; total revenues of €2.677bn, a slight gain over 2004; and recorded a slight increase in net income.

Revenues were boosted by sales of new printing systems which rose by 10.4 per cent on 2004.

Chairman Rokus van Iperen says Océ turned the corner in the second half of 2005, and the flywheel of revenue from services and media is now turning the right way again.

“The robust increase of 66 per cent in operating revenue from commercial activities is an excellent performance,” says van Iperen.

“We have a wider range of products and services and our distributive strength has been substantially boosted in Europe as well as in the United States, where Océ’s integration with Imagistics is proceeding smoothly. Additionally, Océ will shortly launch attractive new products that will further strengthen our market position.”

Commercial activities was the area that showed the greatest gains. Océ’s fourth quarter operating income surged by 184 per cent, reversing a downward trend for services and media in 2004 and delivering encouraging news to shareholders.
