Océ pushes digital technology at Panpa forum

The Océ team on hand at the forum discussed with visitors the virtues of producing newspapers using digital inkjet technology, such as the Océ JetStream series or the new Océ ColorStream 3500.

Damian Schaller, marketing manager at Océ Australia says, “The newspaper industry, publishers and distributors are facing challenges such as declining circulation and advertising revenues in print as information habits change towards online media and tablet news titles.

“Digital newspaper production is an option to create new sources of income by producing smaller runs of a broader range of titles that would be uneconomical for offset production.”

Océ claims it has pioneered the digital newspaper market with its Digital Newspaper Network over ten years ago and today customers like Stroma in London are digitally producing newspapers each day that are read globally.
