PacPrint opens to eager industry representatives

The event – which is expected to draw around 20,000 visitors throughout the week – will showcase themes of digital workflow, web-to-print, offset efficiency, automation, end to end solutions and environmental printing, with more than 200 exhibitors covering every aspect of the industry.

Hadley says, “The ability to gauge the direction of the industry, see new technology and ideas in action and gather the information required to make sound business decisions is what PacPrint is all about.”

Meanwhile, Martin Pakula, Victorian minister for industry and trade and industrial relations, who officially opened PacPrint 09, welcomed the industry event back to Melbourne after eight years, adding it was one of the largest shows to be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Pakula says, “The Australian printing industry plays a significant role in stimulating our economy – contributing $5bn to the Victorian economy every year – as well as helping to drive new technologies and materials.”

He adds, “The pace of technological change is throwing up new challenges but it is also creating new opportunities. PacPrint is a significant exhibition for this region as it represents an important opportunity for industry participants to inform themselves and equip their businesses for the future.”

PacPrint 09 will run from 10am to 6pm each day from May 26 to May 29 and 10am to 4pm on May 30.
