Pettaras purchases 10-colour Komori

The purchase caps off a memorable few months for the company, which was one of only three printers to pick up two golds at the National Print Awards in May, winning in the Annual Reports and Packaging categories.

Managing director Steve Pettaras (pictured) flew into Melbourne on the morning of the awards to sign the deal with CPI, after first seeing the machine at last year’s drupa.

“We did our homework before making the decision,” Pettaras told ProPrint. “I was impressed with the machine when I saw it at drupa, but an investment of this size is significant so I wanted to do my homework.”

“And I wanted to sign the contract at PacPrint because the show was a special event for our industry and this purchase is a milestone for Pettaras Press.”

Whilst the company already operates a number of Komori machines, this is their first ten-colour perfector press.

“This is a new generation press,” said Pettaras. “It is environmentally friendly, energy efficient and fits with the direction our business is moving in.”
