PIAA back over 1,000 members

The industry’s peak association the PIAA has had a surge in members in November, taking it back over 1,000 members. The November boost saw 46 per cent of its entire 2015 new member subscriptions joining in the month. The new number is a long way from the pre-GFC 3,000 members, but is nonetheless a move in the right direction. Jason Allen, CEO of the PIAA, says the boost in membership is reflective of the business transformation currently underway , which includes new service offerings and reporting systems as well as the recent change in leadership and headquarters.

The PIAA has launched two major initiatives in the past couple of years, one to attract and retain apprentices, and one to enable print business owners and managers to reposition their businesses for the new era. The PIAA has also just moved to new offices in Chatswood, which gives it a reduced floorspace, and has enabled it to cash in on its former building in Auburn. The new offices, next to the train station, have hot desks for members to work from when they are in Sydney.
