PIAA hosting AusPost breakfast talks

The PIAA is hosting a series of breakfast talks during July and August with special guest Mark Pollock general manager of mail products at Australia Post, discussing Australia Post’s strategy with a focus on the well-publicised reform program.

The talks will begin in Perth on July 25, and move to Adelaide July 26, Melbourne July 27, Hobart August 1, Brisbane August 2, and finishing in Sydney August 3.

The PIAA says the talks will give attendees the opportunity to ask Pollock questions. Pollock will cover key areas of change, recent initiatives to support the mail channel and practical ways print businesses can most efficiently and cost-effectively use the various mail categories, products and services.

Mary-Jo Fisher, director of government relations at the PIAA says, “I have been working in South Australia, where there is keen interest from bulk mail and associated businesses in attending the Adelaide breakfast, heightened no doubt by the recent press around AusPost’s restatement of its financials.”

Printers and mailing houses are hoping the transition at the top that has seen $5.6m a year CEO Ahmed Fahour replaced by Blackmore’s CEO Christine Holgate will result in a thawing of relations and the renewal of a business partnership.

Tickets to the talks can be booked on the PIAA website. Registrations open at 7am with breakfast beginning at 7.30am and finishing at 9.30am.
