PIAA to host webinar on exiting print

Printing Industries Association of Australia is hosting a free webinar which it says will provide ‘invaluable information’ to printers who want to exit the industry in the next decade. Industry veteran and director of Ascent partners, Richard Rasmussen, who will be the guest speaker at the 30-minute webinar, says sixty per cent of industry’s business owners are over 55, and will want to exit in the next 10 years.

He says, “That is around 1200 businesses that will change ownership voluntarily or involuntarily by 2025. The majority of these owners don’t know what their business is really worth, and they don’t have a transition or succession plan. “Understanding where they are now, where they need to be, and the possible options to get there are paramount to a successful final outcome.” Rasmussen, who has been in business development and succession planning in the printing industry for some 34 years, says the webinar will provide ‘invaluable information that every business owner needs to understand, regardless of where they see their business sitting today’. Attendants will also have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of the session, which has allocated 15 minutes for a Q&A. The webinar will be held on Wednesday, March 18 at 1pm (AEST) and will look at:

  • The voluntary and involuntary transition / succession alternatives.
  • What’s your business worth now, and what will it be worth on exit?
  • How to identify and clearly articulate your needs.
  • Formulating a plan covering your business and personal goals.
  • Implementation and monitoring.
