PIAA urges export scheme review

The scheme, which was inaugurated in 1974, has acted as a leg-up for Australian businesses that wish to enter the export market. The Australian Government is currently reviewing the scheme.

Specifically, the PIAA is calling for the inclusion of all printing, labelling and packaging costs in the category of marketing expenses. It also wants the $30m turnover entry limit for grant eligibility to be removed to allow companies of all sizes to access grants, the abolition of the $15,000 entry threshold, and is seeking clarification from Austrade on what proportion of the current $150m assistance is used for “administrative” related expanses.
