Pica NSW thanks sponsors at Gallery

Certificates of appreciation for their financial support which made the awards possible were presented to representatives of the sponsors by NSW Regional President, Printing Industries, Alf Carrigan, assisted by Printing Industries CEO, Philip Andersen.

Carrigan took the opportunity to reflect on the success of the awards night on November 5 which attracted a record number of more than 400 guests, to see 35 Gold, 31 Silver and 28 Bronze medals handed out.

Gallery visitors were given a conducted tour of David to Cézanne, comprising 101 drawings from the collection of 19th century French masters formed by Véronique and Louis-Antoine Prat of Paris.

The defining movements of neo-classicism, Romanticism, realism and Impressionism were represented through works of outstanding quality by the greatest French draughtsmen, Jacques-Louis David, Jean-Auguste Dominique Ingres, Théodore Géricault, Eugène Delacroix, Jean-François Millet, Edouard Manet, Edgar Degas, Gustave Moreau, Georges Seurat and Paul Cézanne as well as some lesser-known artists.

David to Cézanne is on display at the Art Gallery of New South Wales until December 5.
