Pitney Bowes appoints new Australian MD

Murphy has more than a decade of experience in building sales divisions from the ground up through to running his own successful telecommunications business.  His most recent role, general manager of Pitney Bowes New Zealand, focused on utilising his strong sales and marketing background to reshape the business and drive year-on-year revenue growth.

Eric Yves-Mahe, president of Pitney Bowes Growth Markets (Asia Pacific, Middle-East, Africa and Latin America) says, “James was our natural choice and the best fit for the position of managing director of Pitney Bowes Australia. His insight into Pitney Bowes’s business and goals will help further expansion of the Australian market.

“His proven track record in building businesses and relationships will prove invaluable in fostering the growth of Pitney Bowes’s solutions to new and existing customers in Australia.”

Commenting on his appointment, Murphy says his challenge was to build upon Pitney Bowes’s reputation for the quality of its solutions and services delivered to the local marketplace.

He says, “The level of customer satisfaction in Australia is excellent,” said Murphy. “There is a system in place to track this, and I want to ensure the provision of ‘great customer service’ is the top priority of all employees. It is important to me that every connection we make as a company is a positive one.”

Murphy’s past roles include positions in national sales and marketing through to general management across a range of industries, including telecommunications, software, paper and construction.
