PMP settles dispute with former CEO

The company said it had “amicably settled all differences” with Evans arising from his sudden departure from the company in January. Both sides have agreed to a confidentiality clause restricting details on the final terms.

Evans is believed to have settled for less than the $1.56m he was seeking from the company when he launched the action, according to The Australian. Media sources also said the former PMP boss had been linked to buying the Beaudesert Times group, a small local newspaper and publishing business southwest of Brisbane.

Also in the news, PMP has announced the appointment of David Chesser, former Salmat distribution general manager, to general manager of PMP Distribution. Chesser joins PMP with more than 22 years experience in the Australian printing and distribution industry and 10 years within Salmat Distribution.

PMP says that reporting to Andrew Williams, executive general manager, PMP Distribution, Chesser will be working with Williams and Richard Allely, CEO of PMP to transform the business into a force to be reckoned with in the letterbox distribution in Australia.

Chesser says, “I am extremely excited about joining PMP. For 22 years I have admired the business from afar and can’t wait to work with Andrew and Richard as we build the business into a formidable force in distribution in Australia and New Zealand.”

He continues, “Retailers are calling out for a competitive industry with two strong distribution players. I hope to deliver that competitiveness, to demonstrate the importance of catalogues in this country and to bring sustainability in to the industry.”
