Printers filling out Future Print business assessment scorecard

Some 124 printers are undergoing business snapshot assessments in the second phase of the Future Print Business Transformation Project. Organisers say almost 100 per cent of attendees from its preliminary briefings signed up to go on to the next stage, with key criteria to be measured against industry benchmarks. The printers will then take part in one-on-one workshops with business advisors to interpret the results and pinpoint areas for improvement.

Joan Grace, general manager for innovation, training and employment with the PIAA, says the programme has exceeded its target of 100 business and is hitting the mark with participants. She says, “We are delighted to see that the mix of information, resources and support we have been able to put into place is meeting a real need in the market.” A second round of Leadership Briefings will be held in early 2015. The Future Print team is also sorting through the feedback and ideas generated at its Apprenticeship Summit last month. Grace says, “The Summit participants provided an optimistic assessment of the opportunities and potential of print in future, as well as a realistic and practical appraisal of the challenges we face. “Their feedback, ideas and information are currently being evaluated and will help us make the training offered through Future Print even more effective over the coming year.”
