Printers gather at Dscoop Asia

Regional HP user group Dscoop Asia hosted 960 guests from 30 countries around the region, with a sizeable number from Australia

Kelvin Gage, sales director at Blue Star Australia and Dscoop Asia Pacific chairman, welcomed the delegates telling them to enjoy the experience.

He said, “You are here to learn during the 65 different sessions over the next few days. And you are here to meet new people. That is what this is about. Commit yourself to open your mind to learning; open your heart to meeting new people; and have a little fun along the way.”

Swedish futurologist Marcus Lindqist delivered a thought provoking keynote presentation to kick things off. He discussed how companies should value what is different rather than simply follow others.

At Dscoop, HP announced the official release of a number of new wide format printers and solutions.

The event also hosted a showcase hall featuring 42 different brands including HP itself and Dscoop partner companies. Delegates were able to discuss applications and ways to improve their business with a range of industry experts.

Delegates also visited printing sites in Seoul to see HP solutions, including HP Indigo and HP wide format solutions, in action.

Dscoop continues to gain in popularity with this one oversubscribed. Mike Boyle, vice president and general manager for HP Graphics Business Solutions Business for Asia Pacific Japan, is also on the board of Dscoop APJ. He said, “This conference has exceeded all of our wildest expectations. For Dscoop Asia, we are oversubscribed. We had more applications than we could accommodate. Dscoop is alive and well.”

"We are seeing the Dscoop conferences expanding in their scope. We still have our HP Indigo users but now we also have to wide format and coming up more 3D."
