Printing Industries hosting health and safety workshops

Philip Andersen CEO of Printing Industries says the programme follows the signing last year of a partnership agreement with the NSW Government, in which the government agreed to work with Printing Industries to provide a range of information and support functions for the printing industry.

He says, “This workshop programme is an important part of this and will be complemented by a range of printed support material currently under development. The workshops will be run in six locations and will follow an identical two-part morning format including breakfast and lunch.”

Andersen continues, “The first part from 7.30am-9am will focus on the duty of care, vulnerable workers, workers compensation and injury management. From 9.30am-12.30pm the focus will be on manual handling, managing chemicals, noise and machine guarding.”

Andersen also says that these were vital areas of print business operation and he has encouraged all companies to have key personnel attend.

The workshops will be held in Auburn April 20, Chatswood April 22, Newcastle April 29, Wollongong May 4, Tamworth May 6 and Hurstville May 11.
