QLM merges with Label Magic

QLM Label Makers has acquired Perth printer Label Magic, in a merger which will see the WA company trade under the QLM name.

QLM has also recently opened operations in Cambodia, the seventh country the Queensland-founded company operates in within the Asia Pacific.

The team at Label Magic will remain, adding seven employees to QLM, while former director of the WA company, Jesse Bullied, will take the role of WA state sales manager for QLM.

Sandy Bullied and Dennis Bullied of Label Magic will remain as directors and shareholders in the merged business.

Simon Pugh, CEO, QLM Group, says “Label Magic has a long history in the WA print industry and we are excited to formally have them as part of the QLM Group. We have worked with Sandy and the team for many years and we were looking for ways to grow both businesses. We worked out that collectively we would be able to provide more opportunities for both clients and the teams.”

Label Magic says its decision to merge with QLM is the culmination of a strong trade partnership over the past five years. Sandy Bullied, director, Label Magic explains, “Merging with QLM seemed a natural progression. We have been working with QLM for so long we were part of the family, but as trade partners there were some limitations, particularly in the areas of large scale manufacturing. By merging, we see some real opportunities in this area. We also get to grow the opportunities for our team through the merger which is also exciting.”

Andrew Siwicki, general manager, QLM Australia, says, “Label Magic and QLM are a perfect fit. Their strong values and local team have made the ability to combine seamless. Our recent upgrades to machinery in both large scale flexo and HP Indigo digital will be able to provide cost-effective solutions to the WA market, all backed up by a strong local team they are familiar with.”

Lindsay Nutley, marketing manager, QLM explains, “QLM has been supplying to the Perth market for many years, primarily associated with customers who have sites in other states where we have offices. So this provides a great opportunity. The trade relationship between QLM and Label Magic meant each company was doing work for the other.”

QLM Label Makers is an Australian company with headquarters in Brisbane. It employs 100 staff locally and 600 staff across eight sites in seven countries around Asia Pacific.
