Renz announces Drupa line-up

The wiro-binding specialist has said its theme at this year’s event will be the “automation of each step” in the production of loose leaf binding, the main focus being to provide solutions for processing variable print runs.

The highlight of the show will be its as yet unnamed fully automatic modular high speed punch, which Renz claims bridges the gap between fully automated floor standing systems and heavy duty bench-top punches.

It can handle 40,000 sheets per hour and is capable of taking mixed stock, including polyprop cover and features modular die insertion, which allows any loose-leaf punch pattern to be punched.

Renz will also unveil an as-yet-unnamed inline fully automatic binding line with high speed punching. Book blocks are dropped on the infeed conveyor, punched and re-collated and fed automatically into the binder. The new machine cuts product handling and enables full automation of punching and binding, which Renz said is a world first.

Renz will also show a new automatic cover turner linked to an automatic binding line and the Inline 750, which handles 750x800mm format substrates at up to 4,000 binds an hour.

International marketing manager Dan Pooley told PrintWeek: “We expect Drupa to be a selling show, as historically it always has been for the group and the UK. We find that customers come to see the latest technologies and invest in products that specifically fit their needs.

“Drupa for us is a truly a global show for Renz we will have over 25 different representatives from around the world working on the booth. We will expect to see a large volume of UK visitors who very often enjoy the whole atmosphere of Drupa and view it as a chance to see everything under one roof.”
