Renz focuses on digital market at PrintEx11

The binding equipment supplier will offer visitors to its stand a look at some new machinery such as the new Renz Mobi, the Koilmatic spiral binder and Solar range.

The Koilmatic is a new entry-level automatic plastic spiral binding machine aimed at the digital printer, while the Solar range provides perfect binding, scoring and folding equipment for digital printers.

Managing director Rod Fowler (pictured) said Renz, which celebrates its 30th birthday in Australia this year, is recognising an overall shift in the printing industry from offset to digital.

“We are definitely shifting our focus to the smaller digital market,” he said.

“The staff working nights in smaller print rooms may consist of people such as uni students who require simpler push button machinery,” added Fowler.

“The machines aren’t quite there yet, but it’s something we are working towards.”

Fowler added that Renz was doing exceedingly well with photobook printers.

“We’re seeing an amazing uptake from photobook printers who can use our casing and perfect binding equipment to do print runs as low as one.”
