Ricoh to bring opportunities to PacPrint

Ricoh will showcase a range of new industry-leading applications from multiple new technologies at next week’s PacPrint expo, aimed at enabling printers to cash in on new opportunities.

Themed Believe in the Power of Print, the Ricoh stand will feature a range of technologies on view for the first time in Australia, and new ideas designed to enable local print businesses to generate more volume and revenue, as well as add more value, automate their workflow and enter new markets.  
 
Ricoh says a stand-out highlight on display is the neon yellow toner, suitable for the fifth colour station of the RicohPro C7100x series digital colour printers. The company says it enables print service providers to produce creative, eye-catching value-added print on virtually any stock, including synthetics. The new colour enhances images and can be used as a solid, highlight or graphic colour enabling printers to support diverse market segments from magazine production to direct mail, retail, marketing collateral and point of purchase.
 
Reflective under UV light, neon yellow makes visuals jump off the page and can also be ideal for printing collateral, including event wrist bands or tickets. This is an unusual offering that can help a print business earn a premium. Everyday print possibilities, ranging from business cards and invitations to brochures and catalogues, can now benefit from an inventive twist. 
 
In addition, Ricoh is also launching the new Pro 8200s monochrome press which helps print service providers manage varied content in books and brochures, offer a greater number of production sizes and handle more media by eliminating manual steps.  These allow the high-speed black and white digital print platform to enhance and expand the print production capabilities possible. Supporting a wider range of substrates, a more creative product mix is enabled by the High Capacity interposer, which allows front and back covers or inserts, printed on offset or digital printers, to be added post-fusing, into books and manuals. This inline capability also streamlines production.
 
Visitors will also experience the new Ricoh Pro C5200s series, an entry-level colour production printer aimed at in-house print centres, corporate reprographics departments, print-for-pay operations and commercial printers.  Enabling users to serve as a one stop shop for customers, whether they are an in-plant or print-for-pay, the Ricoh Pro C5200s series opens up possibilities for print production to be more creative for customers. It produces colour and black-and-white documents at up to 80ppm with print resolution of 1,200 x 4,800 dpi. It also works with medias of up to 360gsm simplex and 300gsm duplex, can print an oversize 700mm length sheet and has a total paper capacity of up to 8250 sheets and four paper trays available as standard.
 
In addition, visitors will be able to see a preview of the company’s Direct to Garment printers, flatbed devices which can print directly to a garment, even from an image download from a mobile phone.  This functionality simplifies and shortens the production process compared to traditional analogue screen printing or other methods. The printer can print on a wide range of materials ranging from 100 per cent cotton and 100 per cent light polyester to mixed (polyester) garments up to 50/50 blends.
 
Ricoh will also be using its live video technology to provide daily demonstrations of its high-speed webfed inkjet digital colour VC60000 printer direct from its regional Customer Experience Centre in Thailand.  Visitors will see the VC60000 running a range of jobs live.
 
Visitors to the Ricoh booth will be able to experience all these new technologies through a dedicated production studio for workflow solutions which will showcase how easy it is to deploy these solutions in environments where demand for control and printing high quality work in a timely fashion is paramount.
