Ricoh to handle PrintSmith

Kathy Wilson (pictured), general manager of business solutions and production at Ricoh Australia, described the software as “an excellent MIS solution” made all the more relevant to printers in an era when profit margins are tight.

“With PrintSmith, you’re able to spot trends in the market quickly,” Wilson said. “You can see how much money you’re making from each account and print room staff can see exactly where each job is at. There’s no more ‘guessing’ – it’s about applying a business model that deals with facts rather than speculation.

“By integrating the print room to the business, PrintSmith delivers value and productivity by eliminating vague costs associated with the print room. It adds transparency to various aspects of business so management can respond quickly to market conditions.

“You can see where your money is going and – more importantly – what areas and accounts are the most profitable,” she added.

The vendor said the addition of PrintSmith to its suite of production software is backed by its team of production specialists.
